Mourning LightA Poem by Gh0stShe lies awake while the city sleeps, Another fight that leaves her weak. Unanswered questions rule her mind. Unquestioned answers make her cry. Her eyes burn as her lashes flutter. Her stomach turns, as she starts to mutter. "Why did you leave me, here all alone? Why couldn't you just come home?!" Expecting nothing she waits in silence. Her lip snarls, and she's craving violence. "How could you leave me here, all alone? How could you not just come the f**k home?!" She rises from her bed, but her limbs are so weak. To the floor she crashes, down on her knees. Her hands lock together, as if by intention. She whispers now, to anything that will listen. "Please, please, I don't want to be all alone. Just please, why wont you bring her home?" Over and over, as if chanting, she pleads. Though she knows this night ends in defeat. Slowly, the hours push away the night. Her eyes are burning in the morning light. Softly, she closes her eyes, too weak to weep. The city awakens, and her mind finally lets her sleep.
