Every Morning And Every NightA Poem by Jeffrey GershomRemembering the past and not afraid of letting go.
Every Morning And Every Night
by Jeffrey Gershom I walk through the city and hear voices, some young…some old. They laugh…they argue…they cry, every morning and every night. I walk through the city and see people going to and fro. They hurry…they turn…they stop, every morning and every night. I walk through the city and concentrate to what I care about. I breathe smooth…I breathe soft…I breathe quietly, every morning and every night. I walk through the city and place one foot in front of the other. I try to pace my life like my walk, every morning and every night. I walk through the city and remember being happy and laughing. Memories that slowly fade, day by day, every morning and every night. I walk through the city and see your face and places we were at. The pain still strong and resonant, every morning and every night. I walk through the city and tell myself it was just a bad dream. Your eyes fading as I say goodbye, every morning and every night. I walk through the city and dream of a new beginning…new start. To smile again and never look back, every morning and every night. © 2013 Jeffrey GershomFeatured Review
