Quiet RuminationsA Poem by Jeffrey Gershom
Quiet Ruminations
By Jeffrey Gershom A waning Moon rises Showing the decline Of the once full Brightness of its life. A second dashes by, A minute steadily passes, A degree is met, …and the cycle continues. In time, its zenith Is reached where All things are revealed, If one observes. Even after its prime And at such heights, It fails to see the Potential of belonging. Many people look up To its beauty, To its luminance, but Cannot touch its face. A powerful loneliness Covers the entire expanse Of its plains and oceans, Dry, no more tears left. Slowly, it floats Down to a cold bed That knows it is about To receive a guest. As a waning Moon readies Itself for timeless slumber, Dreams of tomorrow Float with playful joy. © 2013 Jeffrey Gershom |
