The Alpha Squad and The Secret of The Bermuda Triangle.

A Story by Michael Gill

Prologue

They just could not believe it, why would The Alpha Squad and their friends take their place? They were about to be sacrificed by a mad man that calls himself a “Man of God”, but as they ran through Central Park they wondered if they should go back to help those who had saved them. “Wait a minute guy’s maybe we should go and help them?” The athletic young African-American named Rodney halted abruptly.

“You can go help them if you want, but I’m running!” A Caucasian male said and ran away from the group.

“Joseph wait!” Barry called out to him, but the youth kept running.

“So what do we do now?” Asked Carrie.

“I agree with Rodney we should go help them.” Candie proclaimed.

“Don’t worry my young friends, The Alpha Squad will escape with all the help they need.” A voice came out of the darkness and a man stepped out, “My name is Jacob Cagney, now before you jump to conclusions. I’m not like my nephew I was the Dark-Rider before the one you saw tonight.”

“What do you want with us?” Asked James.

“Follow me, and I will show you a place where you can shelter yourselves from those who would do you harm. Not only that, but a place of where you can make a difference.” He walked away and they followed him to The Beta House. Once inside they saw that the place was in the process of repairs. “My niece who is known to you as Shieldra will help you when she gets here. She will form you all to become apart of The Beta Force.”

Several months later: The call that they had waited for had come in. Jacob Cagney had just called them into action; their course was clear now they were to save The Alpha Squad…for they were The Beta Force!

Chapter 1

He stalked the hallways in glee. Not only was he free, but had been pardoned by The President of The United Nations, but he was much more happy that his project of The Nightmare Rooms were working perfectly on those who had made him a criminal known as Dr. Nightmare. He stared in the small window to take a peak at the leader of The Alpha Squad, whose real name was Michael Black but to the rest of the world he was also known as The Dark-Rider. When he first encountered him he was known as The Green Defender. But now as he looked into this room he didn’t see a leader, or a hero, but a cowering pathetic human being. “Now you shall feel the pain and suffering I went through young one.” He said out loud knowing that the young man in the room couldn’t hear him.

“Enjoying the view?” The Gamer asked, “I’ve been enjoying watching the monitors, especially those of Mindra and Sparks.”

“Well without your help I wouldn’t be able to finish my…our project of these rooms.”

“And without the help of Superior then all of you wouldn’t have been pardoned.” Ruthers walked up reminding them.

“But of course we owe him everything my dear Ruthers.” Dr. Nightmare bowed.

She ignored his gesture, “So how are the subjects?”

“They are responding as we predicted.” Gamer answered.

“And they have no idea where they are at?”

“None and they will continue to relive their nightmares…until their brains can no longer handle it.” Dr. Nightmare said with an evil smile.

“And they can’t use their powers?” She asked.

“No, they have DNA collars on.” Gamer assured her.

“Good, then I shall report to Superior that all is well.” She told them as she left the room.

“Well shall we continue our view of pleasure?” Dr. Nightmare asked Gamer rubbing his palm together.

“Yes, I wish to see what they are “dreaming’ about.” Gamer agreed, and they laughed evilly as they went into the monitoring room.

Inside the Dark-Riders’ room he continued to rock back and forth. He was wondering how long he had been in the room. His abilities were gone but he didn’t need them to know that he was in the midst of his enemies. He knew the visions before him were fake. He knew his friends weren’t killed as they came into the building that they were in now. He knew that…for he wasn’t about to give up on them or a way out of here.  “I am with you even until the end of the age.” He quoted over and over again from last verse of the last chapter of the book of Matthew.

Chapter 2

The truck approached the security gate, and stopped long enough for the occupants to show their badges that they were a tech-support team. They were told where to go and they left the gate to their next destination. They walked into the building and were guided to the room where they were to perform their duties. The guards left them to their work and the looked at one another and nodded. They stripped off their tech support outfits and underneath were Bio-Suits. “Okay team let’s get our friends out of here.” Green Defender said. “Techno find out where they are.”

“On it boss.” Techno saluted and she started typing into the nearest computer console using her ability to understand computer language as well as hack into any system without being caught. “Found them, they are in the same hallway but in separate rooms.” She reported, “I’ll start a security loop.”

“Good work.” Green Defender patted her on the back, “Micro, Shellshock, Jinx, you guys go and get ready to get them out there.” They pressed a couple of buttons on their Changers and within seconds they looked like guards. “Techno remind me to give you a raise.” He nodded for them to leave, and they left the room as they others looked on.

“Green Defender I found something else.” Techno spoke up, “There’s an inner loop within the program. They are being held in Nightmare Rooms and guess who’s watching?”

“Dr. Nightmare, can you hack into…never mind do what you gotta do.” He told her as she gave them a look that she knew what she was doing.

Minutes later the trio disguised as guards walked up to the door holding The Dark-Rider. “Micro here, ready to begin phase 1.” He spoke into his communicator.

“Hang on a minute Micro, Techno has to feed into an inner loop…okay it’s set; you guys do your thing.”

“Okay he we go.” Micro said as he began to shrink down to microscopic size that no one could see him. He walked under the crack of the door, and went into the room where Dark-Rider was being kept. He returned to normal size and took off the DNA collar. “Dark-Rider can you hear me?”

“Yes…but who are you?’

“My name is Micro; I’m with The Beta Force.”

“About time you guys got here.” Dark-Rider smiled.

“Hang onto me.” Micro told him and they shrunk together, walked under the door again. They returned to normal size, and Dark-Rider started to breathe deeply the fresh air that he could take it.

“Feel better?” Jinx asked him.

“Yes, but what about the others?” He asked.

“Don’t worry we’ll get them out.” Shellshock assured him.

“I got the next one.” Jinx volunteered. She walked up to the door that led to the room where Molder was being held. She pointed at the door and purplish bolt fired out of her finger. Once it hit the door it turned from metal into plastic, she then pushed it down and a minute later she escorted Molder out of the room.

“I got the next one.” Shellshock said as he approached the door holding Boom Box. He turned his body into a hardened shell and he grabbed the metal door by its hinges and pulled it off. He got Boom Box out of the room, and smiled at his friend.

“Shellshock?  What are you guys doing here?” Boom Box asked wearily.

“Saving your butt as usual.” Shellshock answered with a grin.

One by one they helped the members of The Alpha Squad out of their nightmarish rooms. They looked at one another as if they had not seen each other in months. “How long have we been in those rooms?” Dark-Rider asked.

“You’ve been gone for a month.” Green Defender answered as he, Techno and Time-Out joined them.

“Here’s some new changers.” Techno passed them around. “Not only will they give you upgraded Bio-Suits, but also are able to do this.” She demonstrated as she turned her silver colored Bio-Suit into a guards’ uniform.

“Wow, and here I thought I’d thought of everything for that thing.” Sparks admitted.

“Not everything.” Techno winked.

“You guys strong enough to use your abilities?” Green Defender asked.

“Some of us.” Dark-Rider answered, “Some of us aren’t so strong…lack of food.”

“They starved you guys?” Time-Out asked.

“Yeah, and believe me the first thing I want is a large pizza to myself.” Frezor admitted.

“Well then let’s get out of here.” Dark-Rider said as he activated his changer to look like a guard, “Boom Box, Shieldra, and Aquatrina you guys will act like our prisoners.” He instructed. They walked down the corridors that led them out of the building. They were almost out when they were spotted by some other guards.

“Hey you stop right there for a moment!” They called out.

“There’s five more in the room behind them.” Detector whispered.

“How do you know that?” Blaze asked.

“I can hear their breathing.” he told her.

“Where are you taking those prisoners?” The lead guard asked.

“To a new holding cell until their Nightmare rooms could be repaired.” Dark-Rider answered.

“I was never informed.” The lead told him.

“Hey boss, their DNA collars are off.” One of the guards said as he raised his weapon.

“Who are you guys?”

“I’ll tell you who we are!” Dark-Rider than changed into his black battle gear. “We’re The Alpha Squad.”

“And The Beta Force!” Green Defender declared.

Both teams didn’t waste time taking out the guards and they continued on their way through the corridor leading them to the outside. “They’ve closed off the exit with a blast door.” Detector told them.

“How can you see that far?” Mindra asked.

“That’s my ability, well one of them actually. All my senses are heightened.”

“Oh I see.” Mindra said.

“But how are we going to get through?” Blaze asked.

“Allow me!” Shellshock towards the door, but it barely budged.

“Okay so much for that idea.” Jinx said, as she blasted the door but it didn’t turn into anything.

“Someone want to tell me what is going on?” Shieldra asked.

“That door is made out of a special metal.” Sparks observed and then looked at his girlfriend.

“And metal is something I’m very good with.” She walked up to the door and began to absorb it into her body. They walked out of the door and were met by a large army of soldiers.

“I don’t remember this being part of the escape simulation.” Jinx complained.

“Time-Out now!” Green Defender ordered. Then all around them the soldiers and the army vehicles with them halted to a stop.

“What happened to them?” Molder asked.

“I froze time for us.” Time-Out huffed.

“We have exactly two minutes to get out of the area.” Green Defender said as grabbed her and took flight. All of them followed suit and those who could fly were escorted out by ones that could. Green Defender talked into his communicator, “Green Defender to Alpha Jet, we have the packages, I repeat we have the packages.”

“Good work Beta Force, I’m hovering right above you.” Jacobs’ voice rang through.

“Uncle Jacob!” Shieldra cheered, and ran up and hugged him after they were on board.

“I’m glad to see you too my dear.” He held her tight, “I’m glad to see all of you.”

“Maybe physically…but mentally it’s gonna take while for some of us.” Dark-Rider informed him.

“I see, well let’s have you get some rest, next stop The Beta House.”

Chapter 3

The teens met the next day in The Meeting Room in the underground HQ of The Beta Force. The Alpha Squad was briefed by Jacob on what had happened over the past month. The President of The United Nations was convinced by The VP to pardon all of the villains they had fought and put in jail over the past couple of years. The Cyber-Destroyers were on assignments for the new S.H.I.N.E. Organization. The new facility that they had broken out of the other night was one of many that had been built to hold those who have had abilities more than human. People were being taken off of the streets left and right for their DNA to be tested, parents were turning their kids into their local governments world wide to be tested to see if they were human or not.

“This is unbelievable!” Clara exclaimed, “We’re out of the picture and the whole world goes down the toilet!”

“Calm down Clara, all of us don’t like it anymore than you do.” Mike told her and she sat down. “What we need to do before anything else is get back into action.”

“Hey boss man, I’m all up for that too, but I think some of us aren’t quite ready to be back in action just yet.” Dan spoke up, and a few members nodded.

“Then what should we do then?” Dave asked.

“Well I know what Plantra, Aquatrina, and myself are gonna do.” Boom Box spoke up. “We’re staying here in New York.”

“That’s probably a good idea; we need to even out the teams anyways.” Mike said in approval.

“But where does that lead us?” Dan asked.

“You’ll be going to an island off just off of the Bermuda Triangle.” Jacob spoke up.

“Say what?” Nicole asked.

“Erin’s’ parents had sent this letter asking that we have her come and see them.” Jacob continued.

“All of us?” Ally asked.

“Yes, I have booked a cruise for you to go on.” Jacob explained, “It will take you two weeks to get there. Once you get there, her parents happen to own a nice hotel there. They said they would take care of you until you are ready to come back to Oregon.”

“At least I can find out why it took so long to find me, and plus I can finally see my sister!” Erin said with excitement and she hugged Dan.

“Well it’ll be nice to go on an actual vacation.” Angie agreed.

“Not only has that but the mystery of The Bermuda Triangle always fascinated me.” Mike said with glee.

“Is there any other mystery you haven't want to solve?” Nicole asked him.

“I got a list full!” He proclaimed.

“Why am I not surprise.” Nicole shook her head. “But we’re not going there for you to solve a mystery, but to relax.” She told him.

“Okay, okay, I get the point…” He backed off.

“For once I agree with Nicole on this one.” Clara spoke up and the others nodded.

“Hey I give up.” Mike put his hands up in the air. “So when do we leave?”

“You’ll be leaving tomorrow. And please try to stay out of trouble.” Jacob then gave Mike a wink for he too had wanted to solve the mystery of The Bermuda Triangle.

“Well I don’t know about you guys, but I believe us girls are gonna go and pick out some new outfits for the trip.” Clara spoke up.

“Yeah, I mean we all need some clothes that’ll last us a couple of weeks.” Nicole agreed as she and the other girls’ grabbed their purses.

“Well I think all of us will go shopping, but just not for clothes.” Mike said, “I for one have a bunch of comics and sci-fi movies to catch up on from this past month.”

“Oh boy it’s gonna be a long day.” Dan said as they headed out in separate vehicles from the girls as they all hit the town.

Chapter 4

The next day The Alpha Squad said good-bye to their friends The Beta Force as they sailed off into the Atlantic Ocean. It would take them two weeks as they slowly cruised along the waters. The reason for this was that the cruise liner wanted to avoid The Bermuda Triangle due to its mysterious nature. The teens didn’t mind this though for they were looking forward to being away from it all. The past month had taken its toll on them; most of them would need to take some serious time away from any action if possible. None of them shared what they had seen while in their Nightmare Rooms, but they all knew that it was something they not only feared but also never wanted to face again.

The girls took the time to work on their tans, while the guys swam in the pool or played checkers or any other board games available. Mike spent most of the time reading comic books that he had bought, while the movies would be waiting for him when they got back. He also had bought books about The Bermuda Triangle both fiction and non-fiction for research sake. “You don’t give up do you?” Nicole asked him as she walked by him.

“What do you mean?” He countered.

“When it comes to a place we’re going you always have to have a mystery to solve.” She accused him.

“Can’t blame me can you?”

“For once can you take a normal vacation like the rest of us?” She asked in disbelief.

“What so normal about our lives Nicole?” He pondered, “I mean we’re anything but that! I need something to occupy my mind at all times, or have you forgotten I have severe insomnia?” He asked as a stranger walked by.

“I get it, I do all right…it’s just…” she sighed, “You stick out like a sore thumb among the group sometimes.”

“Listen I can’t change who I am.” He argued, “Well I can but then I wouldn’t be me.” He then motioned for her to lean forward, “Everyone is handling what happened to them in their own way.” He then offered her to sit down and she did so, “See Dan, he hasn't once gone into the swimming pool. Dave has been keeping his distance from Clara and Clara instead of using her abilities to help improve her tan she is doing it the normal way.”

“Why are you saying all of this?” She asked him worryingly.

“They each have suffered of something that no one else should ever have to suffer. You and I both went through the same thing as they did, but experienced different nightmares. We are all handling our fears in different ways, and trust me there are days I’m glad I don’t sleep.” He then turned the page in his book, “We all are using this vacation in our own ways to get over what happened to us.” He looked over at the swimming pool and saw that Erin was trying to convince Dan to go swimming with her. “You may want to go and explain to Erin the reason why Dan doesn’t want to swimming with her, and that’s it’s nothing personal.”

She looked over and saw what he meant, “I guess I better.” She got up and looked at him, “One of these days I’m gonna figure out how you are able to see all that’s happening around you with your nose in a book.” She walked away and went to talk to Erin.

The following days went by and the boat was one day away from the island, and in celebration of being on a boat for two weeks The Captain of the boat held a dance in The Ball Room. Everyone was able to pair up with someone except Mike and Nicole who decided they would go at least as friends. The dinner was a fabulous five course meal and the dance followed after that. All kinds of music was being played from the 1950’s to music from the beginning of The 21st Century. The teens were having a good time but they knew that soon they would be on dry land, and in a way they couldn’t wait to spend time on a beach.

The final song for the night was a slow one, and they paired up with their dates one last time. Mike looked at his friends while he danced with Nicole. They had changed over the last couple of weeks. They were now more comfortable around things that weren’t before, such as Dan went swimming with Erin, and Dave was able to have a conversation with Clara without making an excuse to leave. Things were starting to return to normal for The Alpha Squad, normal for them at least. “You’re not focusing on your date.” Nicole interrupted his observations.

“Sorry just thinking.”

“About what?” She asked.

“How good it is that things are becoming like they used to be.” He said, “I’m just glad that everyone is better than they were before we left.”

“Vacations can do that to a person.” She said with a bright smile.

“Well I for one think we need to take them more often.” Then all of the sudden the boat began to rock destructively.

Chapter 5

Within a dark, damp, and dreary cave stood a man and a woman. They peered into the pool of water that showed their pet attacking the boat that was coming to their island. The man spoke into the pool: “Bring me the girl my pet, but the others you may feed upon, for they will be your reward.” He looked at the woman, “Soon we shall have both keys within our possession.”

“And then our Master will be free once again.” The woman proclaimed as she threw dried up bones onto the ground, “Wait! The bones show that a powerful force is here to stop us!”

“Then we shall meet that force if it comes, but I’m sure my pet will take care of that force without any problems.”

“We’ve got a problem!” Dave shouted as he was trying to keep his balance.

“Tell me about it.” Dan agreed.

“Everyone to the life rafts.” The voice came from the intercom.

“Better do as they say!” John said and started to head out when Mike stopped him.

“No wait.” Mike took off his glasses and his eyes glowed with power, and then said, “We’re not going to the life boats! This boat is being attacked by a creature.” He turned to all of them, “its hero time!” They ran off into the kitchen which had been evacuated and activated their Bio-Suits. They ran outside and saw the giant octopus which had grabbed a few people and began to eat them. “Shieldra, Metallacia, Sparks, escort people to safety! The rest of us will take care of this creature.” Then he saw The Captain who stood there with a gun pointing right at him.

“Get off my boat you freaks!” He threatened.

“We’re here to help Captain.” Dark-Rider assured him, “We’re not the criminals that everyone says we are. Right now we’re the only hope of you and the rest of your passengers to survive. You have to trust us, if not, then we’re all gonna die!”

“All right, but if I see any of you out of line.” He cocked the gun.

“We get the message Captain.” He nodded in agreement even though he knew the gun wouldn’t hurt any of them, “Now please help my three friends get the people to safety.” The Captain motioned to them follow him.

The remaining members of The Alpha Squad attacked the creature by using team work tactics. Frezor froze the creatures’ tentacles as Blaze would then pick up the person out of it and fly them to safety as well. Molder would blind the creature with mud into its eye. Once all of the people were in one area Shieldra protected them with a force field. They then attacked the tentacles that were holding the boat in place, and once it was freed it continued its course. Dark-Rider motioned for all of them to stay on board in case the creature had more friends. “What about you?” Molder asked.

“I’m gonna ask for an old friend to help me slay this thing!” He then took to the air, and held out his right hand to the sky. “IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST, LASER BLADE COME TO MY HAND!” Within seconds the sword returned to its steward. Then he turned to the creature, “Now you fowl beast of the underworld, it’s time for me to send you back to the abyss where you belong!” He proclaimed out loud. “IN THE NAME OF CHRIST I BANISH YOU!” The Laser Blade glowed with power and it shot out a beam of light that zapped the creature. It howled in pain as it began to disintegrate until there was nothing left.

Dark-Rider flew back to the boat as the people cheered joyfully that they were now saved from danger. They then went back to their cabins after they had secretly returned to normal. After tonight’s adventure they were ready for peace and quiet.

Chapter 6

The Cruise Liner docked at the island the next morning. The teens got off and were met by a couple of vans to bring them to the hotel that belonged to Erin’s parents. Once they were at The Atlantis Hotel and Suites Resort they were met by her parents. She ran up to them and hugged them tightly. “Mom! Dad! I’m so happy to see you!” She cried with tears of joy.

“We’re so happy to see you as well my dear.” Her father assured her, and her mother kept say anything for she was too busy wiping away the tears. Her father was 6 foot, with dark hair, brown eyes, and with an athletic build. Her mother was about a foot shorter than her husband, with brown hair, and hazel eyes. She was a bit plump as far as her body type.

“Where’s Erica?” Erin asked them.

“We told her you were coming, but we’ve been telling her that for the last two years now.” Her father explained, “I’m sure she’s out scuba diving in the ocean or something.” He then turned to the others with her, “And who are these young people?”

“These are my friends that have taken care of me since I was rescued.” She told them, “And this is my boyfriend Dan.” Who shook hands with her father and mother, and then she introduced the rest of the group.

“I want to thank all of you for taking care of our daughter.” Her mother spoke up, “My name is Tabitha and my husbands’ name is Arthur.”

“It’s nice to meet you.” Mike spoke up.

“Well why don’t we show you to your rooms where you will be staying for the next week.” Arthur offered as they went in.

As they went inside of the hotel they were amazed by the interior of the building. It was all made of marble and it looked like it was the city of Atlantis itself. “This is an almost exact replica of some of the art work I’ve seen in the books I’ve read of what the interior of Atlantis.” Mike said in awe.

“Which is why we gave it the name Atlantis, for we want to people to feel like they are walking through a time forgotten.” Arthur explained, “Even though most people believe that Atlantis is a myth, but I myself believe it was a place that was destroyed but earthly causes and wiped away from the face of the earth!”

“There are several explanations of why Atlantis was destroyed.” Mike added, “One of them being that they were so scientifically advanced that they accidentally destroyed themselves.”

“I take it you’ve been researching?” Arthur asked.

“Yes, it’s a hobby of mine to study the mysteries of the world.” Mike said proudly.

“Well my boy maybe we could get together and share some theories?” Arthur asked.

“That would be nice.” Mike said with a big grin.

The teens got settled in and Erin received word from her parents that her sister had gone scuba diving and would be back within the hour. She grabbed Dan, and asked if anyone else wanted to come to the beach with them as they waited for Erica to show up. Mike was the only one that was willing to go as they others wanted to rest up for the day. As they walked along the beach line they could see the beauty that it showed. They kept walking until they saw a young girl come out of the water, and Erin ran up to the girl, and soon as the girl had taken off her scuba mask that it was her sister. The two girls embraced. Dan and Mike caught up to them momentarily and they saw that they happened to be twin sisters. “Dan, Mike, this is my sister Erica.” They shook hands with her.

“I thought mom and dad was exaggerating like they have been for the past couple of years.” Erica explained, “Sorry I wasn’t there to greet you.”

“That’s okay, I don’t blame ya. You know if the roles were reversed.”

“So which one of you guys’ is the one that is dating my sis?” Erica asked.

“That would be me.” Dan answered as he stood next to Erin.

“So are you single there Mikey?” She asked him flirtingly.

“Well…I’m…” Mike stuttered, and Dan elbowed him, “Um yes, very single.”

“Good then I have a date for Erin’s coming home party tonight.” She said as she untied her hair. “Well speaking of which I’m gonna get ready for it.” She hugged her sister good-bye, “I promise I’ll try not to look better than you tonight. See you tonight Mikey.”

“So Mikey.” Dan addressed him, “I didn’t know you had a drool problem?”

“Dan, don’t forget who’s in charge of The Holo-Dome sessions.” He told him.

“You know what, those sessions will be worth it, if you two hook up tonight after the party.” Dan teased.

“I don’t see that happening.” Mike said as he began to walk away.

“Oh come on Mikey don’t be that way…” Dan continued to tease him on the way back.

Later that night the teens put on their best for the party. They all sat down for a nice dinner. They all chatted about what they were studying in school to Arthur and Tabitha and what their plans were when they done with High School. They ate the best sea food that the ocean could provide, and once they were done they went into the ball room for a dance. The teens thought it was cool that they had a second chance to go to a dance since their last dance was interrupted. Mike tried to be a wall flower until Erica dragged him onto the dance floor. “Are you trying to ignore me?” She asked him.

“Of course not, it’s just that…” He started to say but she put her finger to his lips.

“I was joking silly.”

“Oh, my bad.” He said as he thought of something clever to say.

“I didn’t take you as they gullible type.” She told him.

“I’m not usually, but when it comes to pretty girls like you it’s hard for me to think.” He explained to her.

“Wow honesty, that’s hard to find these days, even on a small island as this.” She told him, “Why don’t we go outside so you can think clearer.” She escorted him out of the building as the others looked on. Once they were outside she asked if he’d be willing to take a nightly stroll out on the beach, and he agreed.

As they walked in the moonlight they talked about each others lives. “My family and I traveled a lot while Erin and I grew up. It wasn’t until after Erin was kidnapped that my parents all of the sudden had enough money to buy this place. And ever since then things here have been weird.”

“How so?”

“Creatures appearing here and there, weather patterns changing rapidly…”

“What kind of creatures?” He asked as they stopped to sit down.

“Like the one you guys fought against last night.” She answered.

“How did you know?”

“I heard that The Alpha Squad had fought off a giant octopus. And then this morning all you guys show up, it didn’t take long for me to put two and two together.”

“I just hope your parents don’t find out about us.” He said worryingly.

“I’m pretty sure they did.” She then got up, “I want to show you something.” She led him up to a rocky cliff and there was a cave. They climbed up to it and went in. “I don’t know what those inscriptions on the wall say, but I followed my parents here one night. I waited for them to leave and once I went in and found this.” A door opened up in the right side wall, and they went down the stairs within. “I found this library, and read some of these old books.” The books were quite old that was to be sure. They had dates on them that dated back to the 1800’s and before that. “Welcome to the Atlantis Library.” She said with a mocking cheer in her voice. “I found out that my parents or my family line I should say came from here. My parents are the last line of the two remaining families of Atlantis.”

“Let me guess, all the strange occurrences over the years regarding The Bermuda Triangle are due to your family?”

“You got it.” She answered, “Not only that, but I’ve been fighting them since, trying to prevent them from whatever they are truly up to. I have to do it when they aren’t around, where they go I have no idea. That’s why I’ve been scuba diving a lot the past few weeks. What are you doing?” For he was scanning the books with his cell phone.

“You may not be able to read this language but there is someone in the group that can.” He answered her and then they went up to the entrance and scanned the writings on the wall. “Okay, let’s get back to the hotel and have Ally read these.” They ran out of the cave and once they were back on the sand they were met by a group of creatures. “I knew this was going too smoothly.”

“Sea weed creatures! They’ve must’ve been conjured up by The Sea Hag!” She said and then her hands lit up, then in each hand she held a sword of light!

“Then I guess, it’s slice and dice time!” He said as he changed with but a thought into The Dark-Rider, and pulled out The Laser Blade. “Let’s get ’em!” With amazing speed the duo cut through the mass of creatures with ease. The Sea Weed Creatures didn’t have a chance even though there were twenty of them. By the time they were done, all that there was left was diced up sea weed being carried out into the sea. “Let’s get back to the hotel before we have any more friends showing up.”

Chapter 7

Mike and Erica returned to the hotel and met up with the rest of the team in Mikes’ room. They explained to what had happened to them, and Erica also told Erin of their family line. “I can’t believe this!” Erin exclaimed in frustration.

“I can.” Mike piped up, “Your parents gave one of you up to The Society and told Erica that you were kidnapped. They in turn gave your parents the money to pay for this resort as a guise so they can work on their fiendish plan.”

“Does he always do this?” Erica asked.

“Careful he’s just getting warmed up.” Dan warned her.

“Yeah and once he gets going it’s hard to stop him.” Dave concurred.

“And I have an idea what that fiendish plan is.” Ally spoke up, and then looked at everyone, “According to the writings at the entrance it say, ‘Here lies the entrance of the triangle.’ Not only that but according to the writings it tells of the story of Atlantis.”

“Go on.” Mike prompted.

“Atlantis was the size of The Bermuda Triangle and beyond, this island is what is actually left of it. The reason why it was sunk was because they weren’t worshipers of technology but of demons, and one demon in particular Samhain. The true destruction was that God had sent the whole city into the sea, for they had built a portal that would open up to allow Samhain, and whatever demons to come to the earth.”

“So that’s what they must be up to.” John pounded his right fist into his left palm.

“Yes, and they need two keys which are called the sisters of light.” Ally finished.

“Wait a second.” Mike popped out of his chair, “Both Erica and Erin have abilities that happen to do with light! And secondly their sisters.”

“Mike’s got a point.” Angie agreed.

“Indeed he does.” Arthur’s voice came into the room, but they couldn’t see him. “My daughters are the keys that will unlock the portal, but first I must get the rest of you out of the picture.” A gas came into the room they all began to fall asleep. Arthur and Tabitha came into the room and grabbed their daughters, “Come my dear our Master is waiting to be freed.”

Chapter 8

He knew exactly where he was, he was in that place where he had met with Michael The Arch-Angel. “Welcome Dark-Rider.”

“Why am I in a coma again?”

“You’re not in a coma, but in a deep sleep.”

“So what do you have to tell me?”

“I’m here to tell you that you need to stop Samhain from coming to your world.” He answered rhetorically. “If he is freed from his prison, then he will bring hell on earth.”

“Then wake me up so I can stop him.”

“Very well, until we meet again young Warrior of God!”

Everything faded back to the room where he and the others had fell into the trap set by the girls’ parents. He woke up the others and they went outside for some fresh air. “Where did they go?” Dan asked.

“I have no idea.” Nicole answered.

“I do.” Mike pointed towards the water, “I’m using my Eyes of Truth, and at the bottom of the sea is the City of Atlantis about where we went up against that creature.”

“Maybe it was there to protect it.” Angie suggested.

“That doesn’t matter now, but what does is rescuing the girls and stopping their parents from opening that portal.” Mike said as he turned into The Dark-Rider, and the others activated their Bio-Suits. “Shieldra can you hold your shield bubble under water?”

“I could, but with the pressure going down into those depths there’s no telling how long I can hold it.”

“We just need you to hold it long enough for Frezor to make us an ice tunnel to the nearest entrance.” He told her as they walked into the water, and she formed a shield around them and they went down into the sea. As they went down it started to get dark, Blaze was just about to light up her hand, when Dark-Rider told her, “I can see without the light, plus if you light up there goes any of the oxygen that we have.”

“I’m starting to lose the shields’ integrity.” Shieldra alerted them.

“Frezor get next to me.” Dark-Rider instructed and Frezor got next to him, “Now make us tunnel.” Using his ability to harden the water into ice Frezor made a tunnel to the nearest entrance thanks Dark-Riders eyes. “Good job Frezor, now all we have to do slide down.”

“How about I just make us some stairs.” Molder offered, and he created a stairway of quick drying cement. “Besides sliding into a door doesn’t sound like fun to me.” They went down the steps up into at door that looked like a hatch for a submarine. They opened the door and went in.

“I wonder how long this place has been down here?” Blaze asked.

“Centuries most likely.” Sparks answered.

“Which way do we go?” Asked Metallacia as they approached a fork in the hallway.

“We don’t have time to split up to try each one.” Shieldra brought up.

“The Laser Blade should be able to tell us.” Dark-Rider said as he took it out of its sheath. He held it out to the left, and it turned red, then to the center and it still was red. Once he pointed towards the right it turned blue, and he started walking. They walked at a fast pace until they reached the end of the corridor. There stood before them was a giant door with a symbol on it.

“It’s a seal to keep intruders out.” Mindra interpreted.

“Seal or no seal, we’re going in.” Dark-Rider said as he took The Laser Blade and thrust it into the center of the seal and the door flew open. They went inside and before they could react they found themselves in another trap! The trap was a giant net that lifted them into the air.

“My, my, what a catch.” Arthur said, as he approached them. He was dressed in a white tunic. “A perfect offering for my Master.”

Chapter 9

“Arthur you have to stop!” Dark-Rider called down to him, “You have no idea what forces you will unleash if the portal is opened.”

“My name is Nemo. And I know exactly what I’m doing.” He countered. “My family line has been caretakers of this place throughout the centuries awaiting this day. Ever since your God threw this city into the sea drowning its inhabitants except for those who survived. Those that did what they had to do find away to ensure that one day Atlantis would fulfill its destiny. To bring Samhain from the depths of Hell and into our existence. My ancestors would raid ships to feed themselves and as time passed and technology improved until the time that we live in now.”

“If you bring him through he will kill innocent people!” Molder told him.

“Maybe so, oh and in case you haven’t notice but the ropes are laced with DNA inhibitors that will prevent you from interfering with the ceremony.” He then turned to his wife, “My dear Sea Hag, if you would do the honors.”

“Of course my love, but first we need to have our daughters in their places.” She reminded him and they pushed the girls into the spots marked for them. “Of course we know that you won’t use your powers willingly so will have to use these Mind-Control bands to put on your heads.” She placed them on each of their heads,

“Now you will do as I say?”

“Yes mother.” They answered in robotic monotones.

“Excellent.” She then motioned to her husband that all was ready.

“Then begin the incantation.” He instructed.

As she began to speak in a foreign language The Alpha Squad try to talk out how they were going to escape. “What the heck is she saying Mindra?” Blaze asked.

“Trust me you don’t want to know.” Mindra answered.

“We need a way out of this net and stop them from opening the portal.” Frezor said with determination.

“Yeah but how?” Sparks asked.

“This net may have neutralized our abilities.” Dark-Rider stated, “But not our Bio-Suits. If only I get my arm through this hole” He grunted and struggled until he was able to break through. “Now to make a Laser-Boomerang.” He bent his arm to where it would form the boomerang, but then the whole place began to shake.

“Hurry Dark-Rider! The portal I think is about to open!” Shieldra warned him.

“I know! Just have to have to make this shot count.” He threw it up and it cut the rope that was holding them up and they fell to the ground. They fought themselves out of the net and saw that they were now being met by an army of Sea Weed Creatures. “Sparks see if you can get the girls out of there, Molder you go help him. Mindra you stop The Sea Hag, and I’ll take care of Nemo. The rest of you take out these things!” They did as their leader instructed and went to work.

Mindra ran up to The Sea Hag who was still chanting. “You know if you keep talking like that you’ll end up in the mental institution.” Mindra said sarcastically.

“You my dear should’ve stayed in the net.” She went to claw at Mindra, who side stepped and with a judo move threw her into the crashing waves below.

“My wife!” Nemo cried out, “If she dies I’ll have your blood!” He threatened Mindra.

“She’s the least of your worries.” Dark-Rider told him and pointed to where the girls were being rescued from their friends. “Without their abilities and your wife’s spell Samhain will not be able to enter this world. Not only that but my teammate rescued your wife. Now why don’t you surrender?”

“Never! We’ve waited too long for this moment and…” His sentence was interrupted by the ground beginning to quake. “No! You don’t see what you have done?  Since the spell wasn’t finished the whole place is coming down!”

“We need to get everyone out of here!” Shieldra said.

“But how?” Frezor wondered.

“There’s a submarine that we took not far from here!” Nemo spoke up, “Take care of our daughters! We must pay for not freeing our Master.”

“You don’t have to do that!” Dark-Rider told him. “You can come with us!”

“No this is the only way.” The Sea Hag argued, “It is the traditions of our people.”

“Dark-Rider if we’re going to go, we need to go now!” Molder told him.

“Please take care of our daughters. They deserve better than what we gave them.” Nemo cried.

“I promise!” Dark-Rider told him and they ran to the submarine. Once inside they dove into the sea and headed out of danger.

“Good thing those simulations we took prepared us for moments like these.” Sparks said.

The girls woke up and asked where their parents were, and once they were told they began to cry. “Why did you leave them?” Erica cried tearfully.

“They refused to join us; they believe that staying would be penance for their trespasses.” Dark-Rider answered.

“Something about traditions of their people.” Molder mentioned.

“Then it was their traditions that killed them?” Metallacia asked.

“Whether it was tradition or their way of seeking penance. The only way to be forgiven of any trespass in life is that in the Name of Jesus.” Dark-Rider said as he piloted the submarine to the shore.

Chapter 10

The Alpha Squad spent the rest of the week finishing their vacation, and the girls signed the rights of hotel over to a company that paid them handsomely. They packed their bags and had called Jacob at The Big House to let him know to meet them at their coastal hideout. At first he wondered that until he saw them coming up from the waters. He greeted them and welcomed Erica to the group.

Once they were back at The Big House Erica was fitted with a Bio-Suit that nearly represented her scuba suit. “So what shall we call you my dear?” Jacob asked.

“You can call me Light Blader!” She announced.

“Then we welcome you Light Blader.” Dark-Rider called out.

Later that night, Mike walked out to the balcony of his room which rarely stayed in. Erica walked up to him, “What are you thinking about?”

“I take the value of life seriously.” He began to say, “But your parents threw there’s away even when I gave them the option to escape with us.”

“You can’t blame their deaths on yourself. They knew what they were doing.” She assured him.

“Maybe so, but still a life is a life.” He said with a sigh.

“I will say this about you.” She said looking into his eyes, “You have the makings of a great leader, and I can tell also that you will be a true friend to me as you have been with the others.”

“You have a keen sense of observation.” He told her.

“That obvious?”

“Yeah you could say that.” He started to walk away.

“Where are you going?”

“I’ve been gone from here for too long.” He answered, and turned into The Dark-Rider. “It’s time I go on patrol.”

“Got enough room for one more?”

“Of course.” He said and offered his hand.

They went down into the underground headquarters and there stood the rest of The Alpha Squad. “About time you guys showed up.” Molder greeted them

“What are you guys doing here?” Dark-Rider asked.

“Well we figured since we still have one more night before school starts up again that we too shall go on patrol.” Star-Girl said proudly.

“Besides we can’t have you two have all of the fun.” Frezor mentioned.

“Not only that, we’re a team.” Blaze stated.

“A force to be reckoned with.” Mindra chimed in.

“And how!” Sparks and Metallacia joined in.

“So how about one last hands in huh?” Shieldra said. They all put their hands together, and said: “We are The Alpha Squad! The Worlds defense against The Society and those who do evil!”
