Idol

Idol

A Poem by Jaime

Crowning myself king

Won’t bring you back to me

Royalty of nothing

On that we can agree

We should learn to love ourselves before mating season

Pinch and pick the qualities we wish to share

We can fight over what ideas to shove in her head

She will come to fruition on the beliefs that we fed

Finding my likeness in the sand

Would you think I’m a better man?

They tried to make me permanent

Wish you thought me as pertinent

Her eyes will grow as large as yours

Eager and naive with constant curiosity

I only hope your teachings will win out

I never know what I’m talking about

Author's Note

Jaime
Something that came to me rather quickly. Rough draft.. i realize the syllables don't match with some lines. Not being strict about it for this one
