Mindstorm

Mindstorm

A Poem by Geralyn Miller

A crack in the ceiling,

like jagged lightning,

emotions thunder in my heart;

tears pour down like monsoon rain.

Sometimes I miss you so damn much,

the agony in my heart overwhelms me.

I miss your soft drawl,

your sweet, sexy smile,

I miss the feel of your raven hair,

curling 'round my fingers,

the glint of your sapphire eyes,

watching me beside you.

Most of all,

I miss your touch,

every moment of my life.

Too long you have been in your grave

and I have walked alone,

forever missing you.

Eventually,

the flood of tears abates;

and I drift to sleep

and dreams of you.

You expressed your emotion very well in this fine piece about a momentary longing and crying sadness over the absence of a dearly missed loved one; thus, the title: Mindstorm, a very fitting title. Great and powerfully effective write.

Sadder than sad, but written with such a beautiful touch, I could feel the pain and the isolation and longing dripping off of it. great writing, hard stuff.
