"X"

"X"

A Poem by Geralyn Miller

A single letter,

so many meanings.

In Roman numerals,

"X" is ten.

Mister X

is a mystery.

"X" marks the spot,

you know where you are.

"X" crosses you

off the list.

Superimposed on an image,

"X" says not allowed here.

"X" on a signature line,

indicates illiteracy.

And when "X" is followed

by the letters LG,

it's distressing.

(Particularly

if the "X" comes in multiples!)

This is the strange result of lying in a hospital, bored out of my mind, and receiving morphine injections for pain. See, inspiration is everywhere!

How wonderful, light and airy and just fun to read. I like this, bless morphine.

Hey I hope you are okay, and feeling better after your stay in the hospital.
