Shadow Lady

Shadow Lady

A Poem by Geralyn Miller

She is half a wife,

lives half  a life

someone to pity,

impossible to like.

She's a shadow

of a heart break;

a love with no future,

a life with no past.

She is half a woman,

content with half a man,

someone to ignore

impossible to love.

She's a shadow

of his heartbreak,

never loved

and never liked.

She is half a person

and half a lie,

someone to avoid

impossible to know.

She is a shadow

of our heartbreak,

faded photograph,

no one cares enough to hate.

this is really good. it gives a picture of this poor woman, but also shows the man and their unfortunate relationship.

"she is a shadow
of his heartbreak" is stupendous.

...no one cares enough to hate.... awesome and the way it all hitches together shows real ability. thanks, raining
