Apology Eyed

Apology Eyed

A Poem by Geralyn Miller

When I smiled,

and said hello;

she looked at me

with an apology

in her eyes.

A small, grey woman,

skittering about

like a frightened kitten,

forever terrified

of the world around.

The more I got to know her,

the more I realized,

she was always frightened,

and she always had

an apology in her eyes.

Love this simple description- it really is simply stated, and doesn't cover much, but looking further into it, there's a story behind this piece... wonderfully done.

you create her aura in vivid scope~ I have known a few like this~ afraid of their own shadows which conceal a lot of dark spots~
