Dark Flower

Dark Flower

A Poem by Geralyn Miller

Flower

blooming in the dark,

you are lonely

and unseen.

Do you fear the sunshine?

it's heat?

it's brightness?

or it's all revealing light?

In the dark

you are shadowy,

mysterious,

safe.

The sunshine reveals

your flawed petals,

your scarred leaves,

your tortured stems.

The dark hides you,

wise and wary

flower,

blooming in the dark.

An interesting poem… It's about a flower, yet it somehow portrays the author's look on life as well.
