Flame of Violence

Flame of Violence

A Poem by Geralyn Miller

Violence,

is an equal opportunity destroyer.

Bullets are colorblind.

The ache in a Mother's heart

when her child is murdered,

does not change with the color of her skin.

No matter if the eyes are blue or brown,

all tears are salt,

as all blood is red.

Violence

is a wildfire,

burning out of control;

often destroying

the one who lit the flame.

Violence

is a weapon

used by the vicious and stupid

. . . and

by those without hope.
