Lady Luck

Lady Luck

A Poem by Geralyn Miller

She's a sweet, seductive Lady,

she'll catch you

while you're dreaming;

and steal you're heart away.

She will tease you,

sometimes please you;

then just leave you

alone to cry.

She's a wild, wicked Woman,

she'll grab you

while you're hoping;

take your money and run.

She will use you,

sometimes abuse you;

then just leave you

alone to cry.

She's a vain and vicious Mistress,

she'll  own you

before you know it;

make you sell your soul.

She will taunt you,

and always haunt you,

then she'll leave you

alone to cry.

As a non gambler, I have watched and listened to gamblers talk of "Lady Luck". Me, I don't think she is much of a lady.
