Memo

Memo

A Poem by Geralyn Miller

A useless scrap

of yellow paper,

on which is written,

her name

"Melody";

and a phone number,

long disconnected.

Disconnected,

like her brief life;

but the heart-hurt

lingers on.

Memory-

like the useless  scrap

of yellowed paper,

I can not bear

to throw away.

I so do understand this~ some meories are meant to still be touched with hands in whatever shape available~to ease the the most poignant of wounds of loss~
such gentle care in the presentation of this lovely melancholy write~
