Pooh's Sorrow

Pooh's Sorrow

A Poem by Geralyn Miller

Winnie the Pooh is sad today,

for Christopher Robin has gone away;

Gone to the hills beyond the sky,

far too high for Pooh to fly.

Gone is the boy Pooh was made to please;

the boy who sat on his Father's knees.

Away from Owl and Tigger and Baby Roo,

Eyore, Rabbit, Piglet and Pooh.

Author's Note

Geralyn Miller
Somedays, my head is in an unusual space.
A.A.Milne wrote the Pooh stories for his son, Cristopher Robin.
I wrote this poem the day the death of the very real Christoher Robin Milne was announced. He died as an elderly man.

love it this is sad but you got people to think cartoons can die too and pooh owl tigger and baby roo eyore rabbit piglet are just toys that this little boy played with and little boys grow up to be old and die and you see what this man left behind when he was a boy and what he believe in thats what I take out if it love it good job

i recall the regret I felt when i went into high school and could no longer play with toys. I was rather older than most in giving up my toys. I thought... what shall i ever do, i had relied so on them, and now they will be gone. i had lined up all of my ww2 little grey germans and green american army tanks, and then just left them there in my room, i would never go back to them....

so i liked this poem of yours and felt the words
