INSOMNIA

INSOMNIA

A Poem by Geralyn Miller
"

After 72 hours without sleep, time becomes your enemy.

"

Tic-toc, tic-toc,

slow, slwer, slowest,

time passes too damn slow.

drag, drag, dragging,

dear god,

when does tomorrow begin?

Tic-toc, tic-toc,

slow, slower, slowest;

life passes unpleasantly,

miserably, cruelly,

Slow.

Tomorrow

and tomorrow

and tomorrow;

an infinity of slow,

thousand day tomorrows.

Tic-toc, tic-toc,

Slow, slower,slowest.

I love the word-play. And the subject is pretty much familiar to me, lol. You define insomnia in a singular way - I like the originality of this piece. :)

Great feel to this, that when sleep alludes time just drags........and I have had so many nights like that, when the world sleeps, it's dark, quiet, and you feel as if you are the only soul on earth...........much enjoyed.

I went through quite a long phase on insomnia and I must say, this describes it quite well. Great writing. Quick tip -- You should try expanding it.
