MY BEST FRIEND

MY BEST FRIEND

A Poem by Gerald Akunyi
"

Jesus is a perfect friend who gave his all to be a friend, and in Him, there is no fault. Best friend.

"
'''''MY BEST FRIEND'''''

I thought it was my buddy,
For he cared like a brother,
But when we came to being roomie,
I became a bother.
He's a good friend,
But not my best friend.

I thought it was my pretty girl,
For she loved more than the rest,
But when my morals took a twirl,
I became a real pest.
She's the great friend,
But not my best friend.

I never thought it was Jesus,
For though he loved,I ignored him,
But still He calls me 'Precious'
And He never crossed back the love rim.
He's a best friend,
And He is my best friend.

I thought my betrayals will run His love dry,
I caused him pains so many years relentless,
And though I make him cry,
He forgives and counts me guiltless.
He's the greatest friend,
And He's my best friend.
