Caged

Caged

A Poem by GeorgiaBryony
"

For all the victims of domestic violence...

"
You love him- he says he loves you too,
But the way he act you haven't a clue.
One minute he is the nicest guy you have ever met,
The next your crying, scared by a threat.
You try to hide the pain - physically and emotionally,
No one seems to notice and the pain grows gradually.
You're like a caged bird, trapped - not free,
But to escape is an option you just can't see.
You need someone you can rely on for support
Someone who see's the light at the end of the tunnel- something you haven't thought.
Don't ever blame yourself for his actions,
Just remember who caused those bruises and fractures.
Find that special someone that does have the key,
They'll open your cage and once again you'll be free.
For now keep thinking that it will get better,
All the things he says don't matter.
Keep your eyes open for that shoulder to lean on,
Because if you dont bother- you might never see one.
