A Time of FallingA Poem by George Coombsplease read carellyA Time Of Falling
leaves bereft as battlefield bodies, gulls insistent cry calls the mind to mourning, they move in me, murdered by the state now gathered as summer flowers opening to light in a safer life
trees reach upward, a yearning for truth, branches beckon the searching mind blades of grass blend without breaking in autumn’s cold shadow prisoners, those pained by a tortuous system range beside me in deepening dusk-light
i walk slow, finding freedom of self in cool air is shadowed by fear of mind fracturing state, soldiers of humanity stand unbroken in your righteous anger, only for evil is there no safe place
