I enjoyed the read. I can't say that I'm an admirer of gulls however. Being the avid ocean lover I'd prefer terns or albatross; terns upon the sand or albatross at sea. I do like the thought of shadows as mentors; indeed, I believe many things are learned from phantoms brought into the light. I don't believe we need by necessity to live there but it's a good place to search for meaning in our own actions. Interesting form and content.

Love the form and theme of this contemplative poem. The words to the left head each verse and speak their own distinct poem if read alone. “In a gull hymed morning”- never have I read words so beautiful and spiritual. Every line eloquent, memorable, like a prayer. Serene and uplifting. Will save this to read again. Thank you Gearge.
