Sad, haunting poem. I feel the truth of these words and am deeply moved by them. I too witness the life-in-death of the homeless on the streets of New York City every day. Alcoholic, drug-addicted, mentally ill, abused- the 'expendable population' in governmental and societal eyes. As your eloquent and heart-felt words observe, even death has more mercy on these lost souls than does the remainder of humanity.
So relevant to the condition that face the homeless. More noticeable in certain towns nowadays. Undertones/overtones of this special piece are carefully noted. Thank you for bringing about an awareness.
