Good To Be Here

Good To Be Here

A Poem by George Coombs
"

I love solitude and quietness

"
                                      Good To Be Here

special quiet

here as i walk

late at night...

sense of reverence

with which one might

tread ground near

gravestones...

streets where rain

recently fell

glow in amber

street-light...

slow walking...

aware of

peace allowing

searching mind to

ripple out to

edge of existence...

where i walk

it's all so

different...

newness of life

here in the now...

streets i

know so well...

late night

convenience store

full moon

calls searching

eyes to pause

and look...good

to just be...here...

'.. full moon
calls searching
eyes to pause
and look...good
to just be...here...'

Fine writing, words enough, no frills but - beautiful truth in comfortable solitude. Night and rain: the one enveloping, the other cleansing.
