Not much mention, if ever, of adult orphans. It's as if because of age those left behind do not merit the sympathy, understanding that a child does. I'm fortunate that my mum is still alive and kicking, my dad buggered off 50 years ago and met the reaper early, a case of what goes around I think.
I'm sorry for your losses George.
I think the cold reflects in the heart a well when a beloved parent dies. My mother died in winter. I remember putting a rose on her coffin with snow around. It wasn't easy.
That quiet stone Is too quiet. A great poem George.
