A Chapter by Geodan

Some people are trees
They stand
Tall
Firm
Rooted
But they’re
Flexible
Able to withstand
Years of
Pounding
Of cold winters
Dry summers
I wish I was a tree
But I’m a leaf
I flutter around
Fall
To
The
Ground
The wind
Blows
Me
Away
I can’t stay
And when I
Land
I’m stepped on
Crushed
Down
Because I’m
Weak
And fragile
I can’t keep going
I’m not a tree
Don’t step on me
