We the high and mighty

We drive our massive cars

We sell our souls to get ahead

We fight our petty wars

We tear down all the goodness

We enslave all near and far

And for all or efforts we fail to hide

the villians that we are

Powerful, punch 'em in the gut kind of poetry. Makes the reader sit up and pay attention, and that's what we need now. The world has had enough love songs and feel-bad-for-my-Emo-self poems. It's time to begin some chants for change. As writers, and thus the literary Mirrors of Society, it's our responsibility.
