Especially the PainfulA Poem by Zack BurtonA nice little stream-of-consciousness poem for you to read and scratch your head to.
If I had ears
Oh, the things I'd hear Beautiful songs And beautiful curses My mother's fat squishing Layer upon layer Upon layer And my father's breasts sinking Downward Downward Goodbye And that's how the song went Over and over in my head Soon enough, soon enough I would hear again And all the lies Breathed through the teeth of infidels Would come back down And choke them The most gorgeous principle I ever heard Was the one that said "Live and live Until you're stone dead" And I suppose This is the easiest principle The easiest lesson To ever, ever live by Point #3, take a breather first Drink a cold glass Of flaming-hot lemonade The sensation Of boiling water choking the throat Is one I have yet to experience Which is unfortunate I guess Everything is beautiful Even the painful things Especially the painful things © 2011 Zack BurtonAuthor's Note
