I must say

I must say

A Poem by Genevive

Like the jewelry tucked in its box,

so are my memories of you.

Every now and then I take them out

and dress them close to my heart.

I must say, that if I am to keep them, they will need

polishing, they are starting to tarnish.

I agree, the metaphor was nicely chosen. Time passes and memories though never forgotten, start to fade like an unused road growing grass. Nice poem.

The old storage boxes of gifts can make us remember the past. I like the calmness of the thoughts and the logical ending. Thank you for the excellent poem.

Nice metaphor, and the message is embedded nicely. Sharp work I like it.

Old memories do fade over time. It's sad, but it's great how new memories replace them and improve life, ya know? :)

So goes the way of uncared for metals, especially those that aren't a high percentage of gold, or silver...purity counts with such things. And your poem pays mention to that possibility.

Excellent...!

I understand the thoughts and the reasons... and you didn't give a single excuse.
