Spring is NearA Poem by Genevieve Robinson McKibbenSpring is Near
Spring is slowly drawing near, Bringing in another year, Soon to wake old winter’s nap With a warm and gentle tap.
Birds are waiting, self-possessed, Preening up their feathered breast, Hoping now it won’t be long Till they’re singing spring’s sweet song.
Trees are standing patiently, Waving limbs of dignity, Weary of their naked bout, Urging buds to hurry out.
Sunny sol is waiting too. For his role so warm and true, Shining up his golden ray, Getting ready spring’s new day. © 2016 Genevieve Robinson McKibbenAuthor's Note
