Country PortraitsA Poem by Genevieve Robinson McKibbenCountry Portraits
I see the dawn salute its birth Across a dew-kissed, freshened earth; I see the planted, full-dressed field, Its harvest near abundant yield… The cattle grazing in the lea, Contented scenes of harmony.
I see the trees stretched proud and high, Enchanting portraits ‘gainst the sky, Yet deep within my staring face, The origin I cannot trace… But as the twilight ends the day, A scene of joy is my survey. © 2016 Genevieve Robinson McKibbenAuthor's Note
