Joy

Joy

A Poem by Genevieve
"

Just a little ode to a few things that make me smile :)

"

Joy is the yellow of sunlight.
It is the sound of children playing,
Laughing and squealing.
It tastes of candied apples
And cotton candy.
It smells of springtime flowers,
Fresh sheets and home-made bread
And it feels like a magic spell
Warding off the blues of darkness.

There are so many good and joyful things in this world and your poem has touched on some great ones for you.

For me i could add the first sip of a fresh pint of cider. The first flowers of spring, the smell of cut grass, my cat purring... so many things.

Thank you for brightening up my day even if its 2am.

aw that's great
lighthearted and truthful, beautifully written too
I especially liked where, after you described joy as yellow, you called darkness blue
creative :)

A beautifully written piece of poetry, I love the ethereal flow & my mind's eye easily embraced this description of - joy.

This was a very light-hearted and fun read. Joy is such an ambiguous emotion and can be so many different things to so many people. I liked that you put some of your joys into concrete imagery for all of us to share. Great job. :)
