You'll Be Okay

You'll Be Okay

A Poem by Genevieve
"

Part one of a writing exercise for a class I've recently taken.

"

Are those tears child,

Washing out that easy smile you used to wear with pride?

Life just got harder and now you’re heartbroken,

Folding under the weight of how difficult life has become.

Are you scared child,

Alone and worried that you’re not good enough?

It’s so much easier to just fake it now,

Fear forcing you to become what you think they want to see.

Are you lonely child?

Patience babe, go on and face all that unknown.

Be yourself and proud of who you are,

These are just growing pains, no more than rights of passage we all must endure.

Remember child I’m right there next to you,

I’ll help you pick those pieces up and show you how fix them so they feel beautiful again.
