Moved On

Moved On

A Poem by GenevaCnwy
"

A poem I wrote for my Topics in Literature class. The topic was abused children.

"

 Where has mommy gone?
She has moved on.

Did we do something wrong?
She just moved on.

I'm sorry I didn't pick up my toys.
Will that make her come back?
She just moved on.

I want her back home.
I miss her so.
She just moved on.

Why do you miss her?
Do you miss that fire that come when the belt hits?
Do you miss her sleeping her life away?
Do you miss her not showing up when you need her?
She has moved on.

Moved on and on.
She has moved on.

She was not like that all the time.
Her touch was warm and gentle.
Smile was bright.
Brought laughter even to you.
Now she has moved on.

Moved along...

... That's an interesting assignment to write about child abuses... I like parts of this poem, but the refrain "She has moved on" was really annoying. It's unnecessary and takes away from the rest of the poem... It almost undermines the rest... The refrain aside this was a good poem, about a horrible thing.
