Where there is silence

Where there is silence

A Poem by Luther

1.       Today snow feels like sunshine.

My eyelids flutter like a seagull, fighting combat,

I cry, a bone-dry birdbath,

Leaving salt stains on my skin.

I drown in the sea of insence.

2.       The magenta waves wash the dummy ashore.

Rotten timber never is enough

To build a raft to carry him home.

He sits where there is silence,

But his hands will never stop speaking

To her reflection in the lake.

       1.       I found the matchstick used to light my final cigarette,

It was stuck inside my wallet where your face used to lie.

I remember i saw a harlot,

three stray mallards and a rabbi

Sat upon a park bench.

It was spring.

I still recall how it made me feel

And how my eyes started leaking.

I drew it on the back of a cigarette pack.

I showed it to you.

I remember saying

‘If you don’t see happiness in this picture

Remember it as the image which took your happiness away.’
