InsomniaA Poem by LutherSome nights I lay still. I barely breathe for oxygen is life. Breaths-out occur. Breaths-in reluctantly continue at expanded and unpredictable intervals, only becoming apparent when my consciousness loses control. Like the brink of intoxication. The very moment when rationality and reason subside, making room for the unconscious forthcomings. Like the peak of heightened ecstasy. Heightened, lustful ecstasy. The moment when the self control disperses into an indulgent sigh of pleasure. You can no longer continue in the current state despite its potential to better the abrupt void of unconscious fantasy. Hold your breath for moments more and your mind will haze, cloud, and rain you into a state of unconscious bliss. Hold your mind in a vice of concentration, speak truth, unconvinced the convinced, place a steel lock upon your consciousness and fight to regain your control over mind, body and spirit. Meaning you will never forget today’s yesterday. Meaning you will never weaken and lose the battle of control. Hold your lust in a static calmness. Forget all around you but the heart shaped cloud. Migrate indulgence from your mind. Cease the flow of half-glorified pleasure and captivate the moments of true love. Look into the crystal balls and wait. Wait. When the moment arrives, release. You will sleep better tonight. You will sleep. © 2010 LutherReviews
