Girl wants Boy

Girl wants Boy

A Poem by Luther

I should have known
That you wouldn’t like my lipstick,
And that the colour of my hair
Was all but right.

I should have sensed the truth
When you didn’t say you loved me,
And wouldn’t walk me to my door
Late the other night.

But I just fooled myself into thinking,
Thinking everything would be okay,
But it wasn’t, and still isn’t
So now I am left to walk away

Alone into the sunset

Alone into the future

With only memories and photos,
And the poem you wrote for me
Which I tore from the wall
We once shared

From the den we once shared
In the forest once shared
Near the lake we once bathed in
Atop the tallest tree.

I look but can’t read the poems last line
Tear filled and blurred, my eyes cannot see,
So I wipe them and whimper as it reads ‘I love you’
Then I get out my lipstick and fill in the ‘d.’

This flows quite well, almost as if it were written by a girl. You portray her thoughts very well.

Quite sad to note that her lover didn't feel the same way.

I really like this peace. great job. and I just love the end: So I wipe them and whimper as it reads 'I love you'
Then I get out my lipstick and fill in the 'd.'
amazing :)

I rather like the feel of this poem, especially the last line.
