Basic Instinct

Basic Instinct

A Chapter by Gina

My feet slapped the cold, hard, concrete ground violently. I am a fighter, not a runner, but everything changes. I am running now so I guess this is where that streak ends. My temper had made this happen. 'Stupid, stupid, stupid,' I scolded myself as I ran. Everyone always warned me this would happen.
It all started in first grade. I've come a long way.
My temper had always been horrible and I was proud of it. I know, it's stupid. I hid it though, I never did anything. I got picked on for being GG. The nickname came from the name Genesis (which I still absolutely abhor). I always called myself GG, Genesis Grant, but my 'acquaintances' changed it into 'Goody-Goody.'
I found it extremely hilarious, considering the fact that I was (and still am, I guess) quite a...thing to handle at home. Sometime around third grade, I got tired of it and so began my rebellious (even more so) stage.
Have you ever heard of a 180 personality? Yeah, well that's sorta what happened. I didn't change my personality, just the part where I hid it.
My wardrobe changed from pink and girly, to black and tomboy. My general self changed, I stopped pretending to be someone else. I was living great. But of course, my parents had to step in and stop it.
Okay, not parents. Foster parents, but they're pretty much the same thing. My parents had been missing for 6 years at the time. Kidnapped most likely.
