Blame the Dog that Guides the Sheep

Blame the Dog that Guides the Sheep

A Poem by Anna Marie
"

wrote mid Obama era about the fall out happening in the country.

"
In the midst of the absent servant, we battle
Among the ashes, there are still hot coals
These coals burn through the flesh of every foot's sole
In its eyes there is only what could be the prize, won with embellished lies
Underneath that siren's stare is a truly devilish lair
Peer not into it's eyes, it shall be the last glimpse you see of reality

Blame the dog that guides the sheep, one day there will be nothing left to keep
Cradle and hold tight to dreams close in memory, for that is the only place they will ever be
With every new breath taken one more helpless angel victim of circumstance
A world where the corrupt prevail, with a silver spoon of resources between their noxious teeth
Hate to be loved and love to be hated in this aimless reality

Along the edge is a jagged ledge
This ledge we are taught not to leap
The alternative? stroll among the masses of a world in an endless sleep
Old souls, new souls, all souls that are not fast asleep-
Join hands, now take the leap and let the uncommon finally breathe
