Bambi's Legacy No. 2

Bambi's Legacy No. 2

A Poem by Anna Marie

There's a place in time your eyes twinkle for mine

Babies all around us, love surrounds us

Magic surrounds us as the stone skips a beat on the river sweet

She begs you never to render defeat, hands to your cheek

Nervous he proposes eternity, and reluctantly she envelopes

Trust that everyone ever seeks, they capture their souls complete

On a river they meet, trials they defeat

More little feet do they seek and treat

Time, they did not gather together broke their true hearts beat

He found peace and comfort within another

She remains lost in the past of a promise so elapsed

He finds new life in another he swore he'd never see love in

Tearing apart her very life source he moved on and left her alone

He tore apart her existence as he lured another into his arm

All the while never relieving his grip on her heart, secretly enveloping her greater place

Another pitter patter with another heart begins to scamper on his heart

Fewer and father between remain his pleas yet relevant as he to her it remains

Inside jokes and flattery still a tool to destruct her when she's feeling happy

She remains his and he remains his own, denying the truth to all who seek it

He will never love another because he has never loved his own self

She was never his focus and no woman will ever be

He will find his truth in his master's shoes, a man he can trust with his secrets
