Remember

Remember

A Poem by Geisha

Remember when we were all smiles
Back when the pain was worth while
Both singing a song
But never sang along
Singing a tune, we both didn't knew
I guess a solo tone is all we had known
Times like this I reminisce on all the bullshit
Thinking if this is how it's supposed to be
If so why can't I see .. the happy days
Like when the sun rises and the morning shines
Or the golden years..
Like when the stars comes and darkness runs away the sun
I pictured this differently
Sadly, my fantasy was destroyed by reality
Crushed like a chandelier falling on a dinning room table centerpiece
In this misery, you weren't my peace
instead you were my downfall, pain and depression
Obsession of everything bad
Karma for all my past transgressions
Was the only explanation I had
My only imaginable reason for staying through these trouble seasons
Felt like I deserved everything you was throwing
And was patiently waiting for my punishment to be over so we could finally start growing
But we both ended up numb from this painful murder scene
And that's why its not here anymore
Our smiles
It left because the pain wasn't worth while
The potential happy days we threw away
For all those pointless tears...
we shed in hopes for those golden years
Wasted time singing a song we both knew was wrong
A tune... only you or I could of knew
A tone... only a soloist could of known..
In the midst of singing
The sun forgot to shine on us, so we gave up on love and depended on lust
The stars don't shine until the night time comes
But we were too impatient to wait for the darkness to run away the sun
And that's why we're not here anymore....

Your descriptions are very true-to-life about how it goes when love is abused & dying between two people. The thing I like the most about your message is that you don't blame the other person which many poets do. I like that the bad situation is described as something both people are going thru, instead of one doing this to the other. We all have our wicked ways. Such truthfulness, to me, is the point of writing. I hope you will be posting more soon (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

A amazing poem. I liked the journey to the honest and perfect ending.
"But we were too impatient to wait for the darkness to run away the sun
And that's why we're not here anymore.... "
The above lines. True for the most of us. We shouldn't held on tightly and waited out the storms of life. Thank you Geisha for sharing your words and thoughts.
