A heart kissed by hope(spring)

A heart kissed by hope(spring)

A Poem by Gee
"

Musing on the changing seasons of yesteryear

"
At last a sign that Winter's through
a songbird on a bough
that greets the lazy rising sun
as only it knows how,
with song that pierces morning air
and hangs in fading mist
a farmer smiles his spirits raised
his heart by hope now kissed,
a hope that lighter, longer days
be dry and winds be stilled
and backs be eased by warming rays
as fields are slowly tilled.

I wish someone had told me that this morning Gee, before i put on my long Johns and six other layers, before wrapping myself in waterproofs... that ten seconds of sunlight almost barbecued me!
And yes i know, but i dont trusrlt weatger reports as they all say different things depending on what channel you watch or which newspaper you read, but werent they just talking about snowmaggedon?
No doubt ill wear a t shirt tomorrow and be found under 18 feet of snow!

Gonna be warm here too, with zero chance of rain... so best get my canoe ready! 😀
Oh to get into it with full movement, could winter be a farmer’s sabbatical? Much thought induced by poem🙏🏻🕊
