Watching time crawl

Watching time crawl

A Poem by Gee
"

For the insomniacs amongst us

"
The bleary eyed, the yawning
the folk that watch the moon
amuse themselves with this 'n' that
'til dawn comes far to soon,
to nudge them to another day
where waking hours are fraught
with nodding off and mini dreams
of sleep that's ever sought,
but never found such is the curse
bestowed upon so many
the only sleep they're sure to get
when the ferryman paid his penny.

Poets in general I think. I have slept when tired, regardless of sun/moon or neither for as long as I can remember. May have come out of the womb on a whole other bio-rhythm to the rest of mankind.

LMAO...you and many others methinks:)
Have renamed and removed this piece.
Just lost my review, so here we go again: What a wonderful start to the almost there, Gee. Tis full of all the right moves and thoughtful to boot or whatever. Hopefully you and your darlings will make some beautiful memories, there can never be enough, especially if not too freezing cold.

Tis said brown paper is good under the socks or a hot toddy or.. sitting on the floor next to log fire - or - failing that, huddling or cuddling! Many thanks for offering up that slow rising ball of fire.. a great and much needed festive gift! Best wishes to you all now and into the new year. :)

Thank you kindly EmmaJ
Well Gee, I have always preferred the wee quiet hours, just looking and watching nothing, with the sound on mute... My idea of perfection, watching the new day begin.... But then my inner clock must have got whacked because my sleep pattern is all over the place. (hence why I'm reviewing this at just after midnight, knowing I'll need another nap before the day begins proper.)
I really like how this ends, not with a scientific explanation, but more a bunch of us like things pointing at the sky and saying "Ouch, burny! ) 😊
