With haste to Spring I bid you go(winter)

With haste to Spring I bid you go(winter)

A Poem by Gee
"

My least favourite season looms:((

"
Not all will bask in summer's warmth
enjoy the solar glow,
some much prefer frosts nipping bite
and a virginity of snow.
But I, oh no, I laud the sun
blue skies and warming breeze,
that gentle kisses golden skin
and stirs the rested trees.
So hurry by cold discontent
be quick, kind, not severe,
with haste to Spring I bid you go
for yet another year.

Belated thanks Dave.
Hope Santa is good to you
Hi Gee, you have a birth right for him. Mom would have been happy without suffering all these days and even now, if you were born little late. You are always a treasure to anyone. you’re responsible well enough and taking care of family.

Ah ..I love the winter. The freezing rush from door to car, the waiting for the seats to warm or your feet to fall off. The short days and long nights sipping words. And ..and ...lol. Fires, cocoa, constant adjusting of the thermostat, strange holes from last year's hats, white skin dry to the bone, and everything you touch shocks. Good times!! This is a wonderful "bidding" and a clean rhyme that "Emily" would be proud to read, and spring will be here soon enough. Don't rush those humidities!! ;)

Definitely a chill in the air; on the upside, no need to mow the lawn for a while. Mind you, Charlie does that for me. :))

I take it that you prefer the warming breeze of summer, rather than the cold nip of winter ( last winter we did not get a flake of snow and rather mild winter; now with climate change you may be surprised a the new winter to come( hopefully!)

This is quite good. The rhymes come across as natural speech that propels the piece with a fine rhythm.

Hi Winston, I'll happily take "quite good"
Thank you
You and me both Gee!
I'm not necessarily a sun worshipper as such, being Scottish and a kind of pale blue porridge in colour, but I would gladly take melting into a puddle any day over breaking icicles off my bits every morning and my face cracking into splinters if a thought changes my expression... And it's still only diet winter! It hasn't even got to that part of the calender where autumn gives into full fat winter and goes to find a corner to die in.
Winter has to me the same accent as the guy in Dad's army, famous for saying "were all doomed!" 😊

Warmly wishing. Bleakly freezing.

Winter needs to slip right on by very quickly.

With love,

Winter is upon us too and I'm dreading it so. Though our winter's aren't snowy yet I crave warmth, I'm so tropical. I related so much to your words, dear Gee.

Hope you are well Divya
She has really inspired you Gee. A lovely piece which echoes my emotions perfectly. I am not a fan of either autumn or winter much preferring warmer climes. I need the sun to survive. I can easily cope without the frost. Great read from you my friend.
