Foreboding

Foreboding

A Poem by Gee
"

The calm before the storm

"
Barely a breath, the air still, heavy,
weighted with summers heat,
a heat that labours the lungs and wearies,
lethargy not lazy pulsing veins, arteries.

Above, an artist's sky, palette born,
colours all beneath in hues not named,
not known, until smeared with brush and knife,
textured, to be felt with eyes, heart.

Whilst beyond the eye though not the ear,
distant but nearing, a rolling rumble silences all,
heavens voice thunderous,
mighty, foreboding...

Beautiful and wonderful use of description. The coming storms can come quickly and they can cause damage in my Michigan. Hello dear friend and thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Thank you Coyote
So we'll captured Gee. We are currently receiving respite from the stifling heat (yes, you heard me correctly) and is currently prepissitating nicely overnight.
I'm hoping I can finally get a bit more sleep than 2 hours a day and go back to my more usual conversations of that bloody wind and rain.
But at least I don't have to sell a kidney to pay the gas bill. 😊
Really like your description of the artists pallette and colours unknown.
An impressive piece.
Hope your corner of the world is well, and well ventilated with a breeze or three.

I heard the rumble of the thunder draw nearer. Getting closer and louder. This piece was also visual. I felt the heavy air, waiting for the heavens to open and for a cascade of sweet refreshing rain to fall. Nice Gee. Yes different.

You are so welcome... I have been away for a bit... Broke my clavicle and then 3 ribs... Not great!!
the colors below smeared...much like a Pollock painting...
Old Jackson dropping colors from an azure sky...from blue comes all that is.
and maybe there is heaven up there somewhere.
Beautiful write, Gee.
