Birthing poetry

Birthing poetry

A Poem by Gee
"

Early morning writing before work starts

"
A coffee cup that warms the hand
a pooch across his lap
the tick and tock of passing time
a single digit tap
that births the letters, words and verse
as poetry is born
whilst all sleep soundly in their beds
on an early summer morn'.

You're welcome, friend!
Your words are as near mantra as can be. They're like a song of praise, a dance of joy, they create smiles and wipe away tears, Gee. The birth of dawn is now far brighter than was, thank you!

Again belated thanks EmmaJ
I've done this very sort of thing so many times. It doesn't matter the season. The "delivery" sometimes comes slow and the "labor" can last or move right along. But our children, wouldn't we do anything for them? delightful analogy here, I enjoyed.

Another late thank you, apologies
I, too, write poetry in the early morning. I do everything in the early morning, since it is my favorite time of day. Without the pooch on my lap, unfortuanately. My cat does like to observe, though! I love the expressiveness of this poem. It is clear you enjoy your writing time!

It's crazy whenever the muse hits, day or night. Leaving us anxious, and fulfilled.

I am more tea and cats but certainly a one finger tapper, just mostly at night. I couldn't write poems in the morning. I like my sleep too much. An enjoyable quick poem to read.

Thank you Divya
A poet, who has the itch, the will and the desire to write will find times and ways, to foresee the birth of his, her thoughts, emotions and purposes.
Well done!!!
