Pretty liars

Pretty liars

A Poem by Gee
"

Simple words on a false dawn

"
I asked the swaying daffodils
by whom they had been sent
I asked if spring their courier
they nodded in assent.

I asked the Apple blossom same
then snowdrops, bluebells too
they all said spring their courier
and that winter now was through.

So I took them at their floral word
believing all they said be true
but woke to find a world of white
"Oh what pretty liars you"

Well rhymed humorous piece here. March is the month where nature can't make up its mind, so while we may dream of spring, don't put away the wool socks just yet.

Lol, my feet are bloody freezing.
Thank you
this poem is just "Cool"!

best way to describe it, no pun intended...

the pretty liars, kind of an oxymoron there.
just when we thought spring was in our lap....it jumped off.

You too!? snow!!! we had no flowers yet thankfully so they didn't suffer but wow, who says there is no climate change?! Yes there is. Well written, love the flow, the rhythm and rhyme and its overall beauty. Excellent.

erm no where did I put that sun cream .......... :)
Love this poem Gee. It is a perfect reflection on what has happened to our weather over a period of one week. We are back in hibernation with the heat on. My beautiful magnolia is shivering in the cold and has lost much of her blossom. Wrap up warm.
