Winter/Life...A sweet release

Winter/Life...A sweet release

A Poem by Gee
"

More simple fayre

"
Death, darkness, dormancy,
and every shade of grey
in this season of transition
that has night meld with the day,
where living now a graveyard shift
as nothing stirs, no sound,
the past old headstones rising through
an ermine covered ground,
that holds to heart in hallowed earth
our memories, tears and pain
for those who silent left to wait
until we meet again,
somewhere beyond this fleeting life,
somewhere in blissful peace
where winter, death, no longer seen
since granted sweet release...

You have definitely struck a chord here
As I get closer to the 'that' time, with all the personal and otherwise crap that is going on, I can't decide whether I'd like to move along more quicky or hold back with the hope of improvements.
Although, goodbye February, we are forecast a solid week of sun which has been an especially long time coming
Sounds like you live a bit too far away from the Pub

pretty cool - deep with strong imagery. like the mention of the ermine. i felt an icy grip as i read. seasons are just that, they are not forever although they can certainly feel that way sometimes. it's always darkest before dawn. there is always hope -

the past old headstones rising through an ermine covered ground,

nice job .. :)

The circle of life....some of the segments are not all that pretty, are they? Still, they are a part of us...just as winter is. Beautifully written. Lydi**

Hi Lydia, thank you
Oh Mr. Gee, Gee!

Spring is nearly here
Colours, blooming and rebirth
Say "bye, bye Winter!", you take the gray
Here I am with open arms
Ready, for Spring sweetest repose~

Smiles***

Roll on the warmer, lighter days:)
Thank you
Yes, transitions of life are certainly changes much like a season. What appears dark and gloomy, with time, can slowly become clear and warm once again. People stored away permanently in the ground but not in memory are a part of life.

Hollowed ground anointed with our tears. Beautiful poem that captures the heart of loss and the hope of the world to come.

Thank you, but it is a really good poem!
A season of transition indeed....this year has taken away three very famous public figures of our country and a very dear aunt. As always, I failed to spend precious time with her while there was a chance and so now I must wait to see her till we meet again. I appreciate every word of this beautifully written poem, dear Gee. 🙋‍♀️
