Winter/Life...A sweet release

Winter/Life...A sweet release

A Poem by Gee
"

More simple fayre

"
Death, darkness, dormancy,
and every shade of grey
in this season of transition
that has night meld with the day,
where living now a graveyard shift
as nothing stirs, no sound,
the past old headstones rising through
an ermine covered ground,
that holds to heart in hallowed earth
our memories, tears and pain
for those who silent left to wait
until we meet again,
somewhere beyond this fleeting life,
somewhere in blissful peace
where winter, death, no longer seen
since granted sweet release...

hellos, Gee, greetings, oh I'm so sorry for your loss; believe it or not, it is something so specials it is unfathomable to express. I love this work a lot. Grave yards are scary to some; but to me they are everything, great read, hon :f ---knighnGale

Wondrous, melancholy, heartfelt words Gee. Beautiful language, rhyme, cadence, alliteration, imagery, metaphor. Everyone has suffered traumatic losses these past two years. Over time, sadness may abate a bit and we will add them to the roll already called, and whom we wait to see again. I feel this poem to be so relatable and so authentic. Tears may dry eventually, but the memories will continue to live and breathe in us. Kudos for this important write my friend.

Gee, a very nice ballad without a surfeit of forced sounding rhyme. Nicely done.

Sums up my mood perfectly. You convey feelings so well. Worth the second read Gee. Sun's out but I'm not feeling sunny inside.

I am definitely in that season of transition now, Gee. Death, dormancy and grey all around. When the season does change, I sure hope that our lives here will change with it for the better. Training for your bike ride in the early hours of morning during winter must be truly testing. Good for the lungs, though, I suppose. I like the 'ermine covered ground'. ❤

Indeed a longing for transition, when gloom surrounds season to life...and for those special souls who left us for another non reachable land.In this life or beyond a transition of mind, body and soul...
Wonderfully crafted
