Forever summer

Forever summer

A Poem by Gee
"

13/08/21...Our dear friend Deb passed, the most bright and beautiful lady...forever summer in our hearts.

"
She left whilst pastel colours reigned
before autumn made it's bow,
to rest in peace beyond this world
in the heavens an angel now.
And with her went the summer sun
blue skies turned grey as lead,
a silence came upon the birds
each flower bowed its head,
a gentle breeze it stirred the air
and sorrowfully said
"still every hand on every clock
for she's gone, she's gone, she's dead..."

So very sorry for your loss dear Gee. Yes, I believe as you superbly express, that nature mourns as we do when wonderful people pass. Your heartfelt, beautifully rhymed and laid words here, certainly reach up to Heaven to honor Deb's life and soul. I'm sure she is smiling and watching over you still...

I'm very sorry for your loss Gee. Your poem has expressed very well how all the colour in life seems to have been turned off. They say that time heals all ills but I don't believe it.
Take care,
Alan

The title invites the reader to dragonflies and swimming holes with the hint of sorrow.

Thanks Patricia, popping corks and laughter will be her memory
A beautiful poem that made me feel the loss, feel the earth grow dimmer and darker with the passing of a loved one. I appreciate how bereavement and the deep sense of loss has touched and so enriched your poetry. Thank you for sharing it with us.
