Have become well acquainted with grief this past 6 months
Grief
The pen, the page, they welcome you
the heart though not at all,
as misery's your companion
each time you come to call,
though misery, or so it seems
does with our muse sit well,
gives clarity to train of thought
as words our heartache tell,
to those that too have loved and lost
have buried, mourned and cried,
and too have stained the pristine white
when cherished ones have died.
Grief is such a terrible thing.. Trying to remember the good things..but loss devours them and one is left empty..
Most of us have suffered with this and know what it feels like.
Really enjoyed my read... even though sad..

When loss is fresh it is hardest. Our four legged family is no less loved and missed. Holy Mother, guide them home and comfort us in our hour of need. Powerful words, my friend.
No one can measure or judge the amount of pain a loss brings you, especially when they were there for the entirety of your life, up until then, but we can judge how much they meant to you for the loss you feel for them.

Thanks Lorry.
Hope all is well up North
I believe the psyche is working overtime during times of grief, like a swan floating gracefully on the water while instinctively paddling beneath, with grief we try to continue with the things we enjoy: art, writing, music etc, only our hearts and minds are travelling through a journey of grieving, still we keep paddling. Lovely poem Gee.
Death is never easy but i often wonder how often these writes are literal and how often they are mostly for fine artistry as hints of your eloquence shine through.

Grief, sadness does make for better writing I think :))
Sadly, there is no monopoly on pain. That's the one thing there is plenty of to go around. To be quite honest, I'd just as soon live without inspiration as to suffer for it. But we can all certainly relate to the misery. I remember a song North Carolina native Ronnie Milsap put out called, "Nobody Likes Sad Songs". But heartfelt expression isn't a popularity contest. The song, written by Wayland Holyfield, went to number one on the country charts in 1979. I think the reason is that everybody could relate to it in one way or another. I enjoyed this. Thanks for sharing your work with us here and Merry Christmas.
