Dear death

Dear death

A Poem by Gee
"

Simple words on a Saturday morning

"
And when you come for me dear death
youll find not fearful tears,
as I have lived a love filled life
for nigh on four score years.
I was raised a child, raised my own
was loved, and have loved back,
have walked this world in honest shoes
along an honest track.
I've helped where help was needed most
without request or plea,
have shouldered tears, quelled their fears
as they have done for me.
So when you come for me dear death
please heed what I have said,
and as you catch my final breath
remember,
a good man dies but is never dead...

Oh that is alright Gee! I understand, it happens. Happy summer!
Don't fear death at all as I near my three score and ten. Never have, never will, I don't think. I would say you are and have been lucky but that is always so subjective. Peaceful and given the subjct matter strangely whimsical.

Thanks Neville
A life well lived and that is the most important thing in my opinion. You made a difference to others and that is what will be remembered. Your words are never simple Gee. I like your thoughts here. Emily inspires many. Have a good weekend.

Thanks Christine, you too.
I myself am not afraid of death but I do have an issue with it. Why can't death allow us one last moment to enjoy a favorite food or snack before taking us. Or even a view of our favorite movie. Death is just a crappy date, literally. I mean damn look what he did to poor Elvis. What a s****y way to die, again literally. Loved your poem by the way, Gee.
