Nothing changes but everything has

Nothing changes but everything has

A Poem by Gee
"

Our beautiful friend Deb passed on 13/08/21 after her second, brief battle with cancer.

"
Nothing changes but everything has

In the grand scheme of things, in life,
nothing has really changed but everything has.
The sun still rises lighting eastern skies
then falls, ceding the heavens to a pallid moon,
tides ebb and flow, their calming shushing washing shingled shores,
fetching and carrying, fetching and carrying, fetching...
The tick and tock of time, relentless, moves forward
with seconds changing to minutes, to hours, days, weeks, months,
this passing of time ushering in the season's change,
summer into autumn, into winter, into spring,
the season of new life, rebirth, but not yours,
for you now sleep eternally, peacefully, somewhere beyond this life
in the arms of the angels.

We didn't send a card, couldn't find the words,
and what use tear stained ink to broken hearts anyway, what use.
Even now as this written, what words could do justice,
could explain the numbness, disbelief,
the feeling of loss at your sudden passing
and how sadly you are missed, will always be missed...

Is it peaceful up in heaven
have you angel wings to fly,
can you hear our veiled hearts beating
can you see the tears we cry.

Will you visit in the small hours
come sit and chat awhile,
reminisce about good times spent
upon our faces paint a smile.

And will you hold us in your angel heart
as we in ours hold you,
until the time we meet again
when our lives they too are through.

A very poignant tribute to somebody so loved. That love she has taken back home to the world of Spirit and one day in the distant future you will meet again, never doubt that Gee. Yes, life goes on regardless, that lesson I learned very early on in life. Memory is a gift from God which death can not destroy and when you think of your loved one, she will be there with you. You may feel her presence sometimes during the day, evening or nighttime. The one thing I am certain of is that she would want you to get on with your life and live it to the full, dear Gee. A very emotional, moving heart-rending, sublime write straight from your beautiful heart. Thank you for sharing, dear poet...

Your words never lose their fragile touch, Gee. Your heart really added something very special here. If I may, yes this is true, so very true,

' Will you visit in the small hours
come sit and chat awhile,
reminisce about good times spent
upon our faces paint a smile.'

That is so true, and so likely to be with you via a song, a light, a sudden flick of a hair or curtain moving in the breeze.. its the opening of a special moment. Happens - ones wants - no, needs them and, in turn they feel the need. Sincere words and beautiful sadness

Our lives become different when someone we love departs this earth. There are those that immerse theirselves inside our whole being and it leaves a numbness and void that can’t be describe or put into words.

This poem speaks of those fragmented moments; when we can’t fathom the impact it has on our minds hearts and soul. It hurts! Unbearable and unbelievable. Well penned.

A heart touching poem my friend. When we lose someone who was close, friend or family it really does take a lot out of us. We are often left not knowing exactly what to say or do. A beautiful tribute.

Poignant and loving tribute to your lost friend, very well written and compelling. The energy of your love for her lives on in these words, becoming immortalized. That is the power of requiem remembrances. Your love for her is one of her greatest legacies.

I visit with ghosts often, they are good company.
